The Jed Mercurio Mentorship Programme

Jed Mercurio - writer and creator of hit BBC TV series Line of Duty and Bodyguard - has launched a brand new mentorship programme for budding scriptwriters from the UK’s regions.

The idea of the programme is to give greater opportunity to those who live outside the capital and who are underrepresented within the UK's London-centric TV industry. Jed has recruited some brilliant writing mentors for the programme - Steven Moffat (Sherlock), Emma Frost (Jamaica Inn), Marnie Dickens (Thirteen), Vinay Patel (Murdered By My Father) and Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials TV series BBC1). Each mentee will work with their mentor to pitch an original idea and hopefully secure a commission.

EDIT: It is not 100% clear on their website but we've been informed by them that they expect the sample pages to be a complete story with a beginning, middle, and an end. Perhaps think of it as the long short-film version of your idea, or a half-hour TV episode version.
