Scriptwriting North was set up in 2007 with an aim to offer affordable and informal screenwriting courses to all. Since then we have worked with 100’s of script writers in Manchester and around the world.
Our courses and groups are both for those of you who just fancy giving it a go and those of you with a serious ambition to write for the big and small screen.
Writers who have attended our groups have gone on to write professionally, receive funding for their scripts, and have their films made. Many have won or been shortlisted for prestigious scriptwriting competitions and awards both in the UK and internationally, achieved MA’s in scriptwriting, set up their own production companies and now work professionally within the industry.
However we do not make any promises about where your script will take you after (and during our courses). What we can promise is to motivate, challenge and provide a friendly forum environment to help develop and nurture your writing. The most important thing is that you enjoy writing.
